Satay sauce is a creamy peanut sauce that is very popular in Southeast Asia especially in Indonesia and Thailand. We decided here to serve it with chicken skewers but you can also serve this satay sauce with fish or beef skewers.

Ingredients

Metric US
Peanut butter
150 grams
Poudre de piment
1/2 teaspoon
Fish sauce (Nuoc mam)
1 teaspoon
lemon (juice)
2 teaspoons
Brown sugar
1 teaspoon
Paprika
1/2 teaspoon
coconut milk
20 centiliters
Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon
Brown sugar
2 teaspoons
Cumin powder
2 teaspoons
coconut milk
10 centiliters
soy sauce
2 teaspoons
Salt
Chicken breasts
1 kilogram
  1. Mix all the ingredients for your marinade.
  2. Cut your chicken breasts into cubes large enough to fit on skewers
  3. Place the chicken breasts in the marinade and and cover bowl with cling film. Leave to marinate for two hours.
  4. In the meantime, put all the ingredients for your satay sauce in a saucepan except for the lemon juice and the crushed peanuts.
  5. Cook over low heat and as soon as the sauce begins to thicken slightly and before it comes to a boil. remove from heat and add lemon juice and crushed peanuts. Then mix with a spatula. Sprinkle with fresh coriander if you wish.
  6. Place in serving container.
  7. Put your marinated chicken on your skewers and cook them on the grill, in the oven or in the pan. Serve with satay sauce.
