Ingredients

Shortcrust pastry+ a small quantity to decorate
250 grams
Ripe bananas

Sugar (for the caramel)
4 tablespoons
egg yolk

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356 °F).
  2. Prepare a caramel in a saucepan.
  3. Peel, slice and mash bananas.
  4. Add the banana puree to the caramel and cook until thick and brown.
  5. In the meantime, butter the pie pan, place the shortcrust pastry in it, for a pre-baking in the oven.
  6. Once the banana puree is ready, let it cool.
  7. Remove the pie pan from the oven and top the pie with the banana puree.
  8. With the extra piece of shortcrust pastry, make thin, uniform ribbons to cover the pie and give it a basket style (photo).
  9. Mix the egg yolk with a little milk. With a brush brush the pie and put in the oven.
  10. Bake until the pie is golden brown.
