A late summer jam to preferably make with black figs for stronger flavors and color.

Ingredients

Metric US
Figs
3 Kilograms
jam sugar
1.5 Kilograms
water
6 Decilitres
lemons

  1. Wash, remove the stalks and cut the figs into pieces.
  2. Combine water, sugar and lemon juice in a bowl and bring to boil for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the figs and leave to simmer for 35 minutes.
  4. Wash and sterilize the jars.
  5. Pour your jam into the jars. Close the lid and turn the jars round to get rid of air for better conservation.
