These very decorative shortbreads can be served during the holidays and make pretty Christmas decorations. A hole can be drilled in the cookies before dipping them in chocolate and you can hang them on the Christmas tree.

Ingredients
- Flour
- 150 grams
- Powdered sugar
- 75 grams
- Salt
- 1 pinch
- vanilla sugar
- 1 packet
- Butter
- 75 grams
- Plain chocolate
- 100 grams
- water
- 2 tablespoons
- Egg
- 1
- Mix and combine flour, sugar, salt and vanilla sugar.
- Afterwards add the softened butter to obtain a sandy textured dough.
- Add an egg and mix till you obtain and firm dough. Roll into a ball shape and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into a 0.5 cm (0.25 inch) thick sheet. Cut into the desired shapes.
- Then arrange them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20 minutes.
- Heat chocolate and water in the microwave and spread the mixture with a brush of half the the surface (or the whole surface) of each shortbread cookie.
- Leave to cool at room temperature.
