Gravlax Salmon is culinary preparation which comes from North Europe. This cooking method is very popular in Scandinavia, Finland and Iceland. You should only buy good quality fish, caught either in the Atlantic or in the Pacific. This preparation is perfect for an appetizer by placing a slice of this marinated salmon on toasted bread.

Ingredients

Metric US
Salmon fillet
4
red onion
2 tablespoons
dill, lemongrass, ginger
3 tablespoons
Dill
1/2 tablespoon
coarse grey salt
100 grams
Powdered sugar
100 grams
greek yoghurt
200 grams
Mustard
1 tablespoon
Salad dressing
1 tablespoon
pepper
chives
1/2 tablespoon
  1. Mix the salt, sugar, finely chopped onion and chopped dill, ginger and lemongrass.
  2. Place 1/3 of the mixture in a deep plate then place the salmon steaks and cover with the rest of the spice mixture. Leave to marinate from 3 to 24 hours in the fridge.
  3. Then rinse the fish with clean water and pat dry paper towels.
  4. Prepare the side sauce by mixing the yoghurt and mustard.
  5. Cut the fish into large cubes. Sprinkle with chopped dill and chives. Season with pepper and serve with the sauce.
