This recipe of fried chicken has nothing to envy to those by the brand that begins with K and ends with C 😉 I used chicken hips and drumsticks here but you can also use chicken breasts by modifying the cooking time.

If you have buttermilk on hand, you can directly replace the milk-lemon mixture with buttermilk in the same proportions, i.e. 3 cups!

If you have a few pieces of chicken left over you can of course keep them in the refrigerator, but on the other hand do not reheat them in the microwave but in the oven at 175◦C.

Enjoy!

Ingredients

Metric US
Chicken drumsticks
6
Chicken thighs
6
Salt
1 tablespoon
milk
720 milliliters
lemon (juice)
1 tablespoon
White pepper
1 teaspoon
Flour
300 grams
Paprika
1 tablespoon
Oignon en poudre
2 teaspoons
Garlic powder
2 teaspoons
Dried oregano
1 teaspoon
Dried basil
1 teaspoon
Salt
2 teaspoons
  1. Mix the milk and lemon juice in a bowl.
  2. Then add salt and white pepper. Then marinate the chicken pieces in it - wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
  3. Take out the chicken pieces and start preparing the breading in a large freezer bag. You may want to double up if you don't have a large bag or use a salad bowl.
  4. Mix cornstarch, flour, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, dried basil, cayenne pepper and a little salt in the freezer bag.
  5. Remove chicken from marinade, making sure to shake off excess liquid from chicken.
  6. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large sauté pan.
  7. Place chicken pieces one at a time in the freezer bag containing the breading mixture.
  8. When they are well cooked on the inside and golden on the outside, remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  9. Enjoy with a salad or fries.
