- Make the mashed potato as indicated on the package.
- In a pan, brown the chopped onions and chopped garlic in oil. Set aside for later use.
- Next brown the the ground beef and add the onion and garlic, salt, pepper and 5 spices.
- Cook for 10 minutes.
- Preheat the oven at 210°C (410°F).
- Pour half of the mashed potato into a lightly oiled gratin dish, the cooked ground beef and a second layer of mashed potato.
- Draw diagonals with a fork for a nice presentation, then place a few knobs of butter and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
