Here’s a simple tartiflette recipe to keep you warm during the winter!

Originally from the Savoy region, the tartiflette is very famous in the Aravis and the Val d’Arly regions. Some potatoes, reblochon cheese, fresh cream and onions are all you need for a successful tartiflette recipe. This recipe is particularly easy to make!

Ingredients

Metric US
reblochon cheese
500 grams
double cream
100 grams
Onions

1 kilogram

  1. First and foremost, wash your potatoes and boil water in a large Dutch oven. Add in the salted water. Once the water starts to boil, insert your potatoes and let them cook for 20 minutes.
  2. Peel your onions. Slice and fry the onions in a frying pan until they are transparent. You can then add smoked bacon in your pan. Leave to cook over low heat and stir bacon and onions with a wooden spatula until they are golden brown.
  3. Peel the cooked potatoes and cut them into large slices, while preheating the oven to 180 °. Cut the reblochon cheese into strips too, add some white pepper.
  4. Add butter in a large baking dish or individual baking dishes. Place the potatoes slices and season with salt. Top with grated nutmeg and sprinkle with white pepper. Place the onions and gilded bacon in the bottom of the container. You must then cover your with fresh cream, and spread the reblochon slices on your preparation.
  5. Put the dish in the oven for 35 minutes, until the cheese forms a colored crust on the surface. this will indicate your tartiflette is ready!
  6. Once the tartiflette is ready, you can enjoy it hot with a nice green salad and why not a glass of Savoy wine?
