Here are some fritters that will be perfect as appetizers or as a delicious hot starter to serve with a fresh salad seasoned with herbs.

Ingredients

Metric US
Flour
225 grams
Blond beer
7 centiliters
oil
2 tablespoons
Egg
2
salt and pepper
nutmeg
Grated Gruyère cheese
100 grams
cooking oil
  1. Put the flour in a bowl and gradually add the oil, eggs, salt, pepper and grated nutmeg whilst mixing.
  2. Gradually add the beer and if the mixture is a little too thick, add a little water.
  3. When the batter becomes smooth and thick enough, add the grated Gruyère cheese.
  4. Cover the bowl with a cloth and set aside for at least 1 hour in a warm place.
  5. Heat the frying oil, then pour in teaspoons of batter and let it brown for about ten minutes, then take it out with a skimmer and let it drain on absorbent paper.
