- Wash your potatoes, and pour them in a saucepan filled with slightly salted boiling water. Allow a cooking time of about 30 minutes for potatoes the size of an egg (45 minutes if they are big potatoes). To know if the potatoes are cooked, prick them with the tip of your knife, the blade must be able to sink in without forcing. Then, drain the potatoes and let cool slightly to facilitate peeling.
- Once the potatoes are peeled, put them in a bowl and mash them by crushing them with a fork. You can also use a potato masher designed for this purpose.
- In a saucepan, add milk and bring to boil for a few minutes.
- Then add the hot milk to the potato mash, and mix well with a whisk.
- Add the butter in small cubes while continuing to whisk till the preparation is homogeneous.
- Season with salt, pepper or nutmeg and fleur de sel.
- Enjoy the hot mashed potatoes with a good roast beef or bakes chicken breast, fish in court-bouillon or a small green salad! Enjoy your meal !
